Tourist visa โ€” document checklist
  • Completed, dated and signed Schengen short-stay visa application form.
  • Passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure, issued within 10 years, with 2 blank pages, plus a copy of the biodata page; older passports carrying previous Schengen visas.
  • One recent ICAO-standard passport photograph.
  • Travel medical insurance for the whole trip, valid across the Schengen area, with minimum EUR 30,000 cover for emergency treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation.
  • Flight tickets (plus intra-Schengen flight, train or car-rental proof if visiting several countries); buying tickets before the decision is not advised.
  • Proof of accommodation for the full stay - hotel bookings, or an invitation / letter of guarantee from a host.
  • Day-by-day travel itinerary, or a travel-agency certificate confirming an organised trip.
  • Original bank statement stamped and signed by the bank showing the last 3 months, and Indian income-tax return acknowledgements for the last two assessment years.
  • Employment proof: last 3 months' payslips, employment contract and employer's leave approval; company owners provide a certificate of company registration; retirees provide pension statements.
  • For minors: notarised consent from the non-travelling parent(s) and copies of the parents' passports or ID and, where applicable, the birth certificate.
  • All supporting documents in English or Slovenian, with originals presented at the VFS appointment where biometrics are captured.

Business visa โ€” document checklist
  • Schengen visa application form, completed, dated and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport valid at least 3 months beyond departure, issued within the last 10 years, with 2 blank pages, plus a copy of the biodata page; previous passports carrying any earlier Schengen visas.
  • One recent passport photograph meeting Schengen specifications.
  • Invitation letter from the inviting Slovenian company/organisation and a cover letter from the applicant's Indian employer; each must confirm the applicant's identity, the purpose of travel (meetings, conferences, training or business events) and the period and place of stay.
  • Travel medical insurance for the whole trip, valid across the entire Schengen area, minimum cover EUR 30,000, covering emergency treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation.
  • Proof of accommodation: hotel booking, or a host's invitation/sponsorship form (letter of guarantee) or other document indicating the accommodation envisaged.
  • Flight tickets (plus intra-Schengen travel proof if visiting more than one country); it is advised not to buy tickets before the visa is issued.
  • Financial proof: original personal bank statement for the last 3 months, stamped and signed by the bank, and Indian income-tax return acknowledgements for the last two assessment years.
  • If employed: last 3 months' payslips, employment contract and employer's leave approval. If a company owner or self-employed: certificate of company registration.
  • All supporting documents in English or Slovenian; originals are presented at the VFS appointment, where biometrics (photograph and fingerprints) are captured.
