Slovenia business visa
Ljubljana rarely tops an Indian business traveller's list, yet Slovenia sits at a useful crossroads between Austria, Italy and Croatia, and a growing number of trade events, factory visits and training programmes draw applicants here. The document you need is a Schengen short-stay visa, Type C: a uniform visa for meetings, conferences, training and trade events. It gives you up to 90 days of stay within any 180-day period, and once it is in your passport you can move freely across all 29 Schengen countries.
You apply through Slovenia's mission when Slovenia is your main destination, or your first point of entry into the Schengen area. In India the decision sits with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in New Delhi, while the paperwork goes in at a VFS Global centre. The consulate usually decides within about 15 calendar days of a complete file, though this can stretch to 45 days when a case needs extra checks.
Who this visa is for

Your exact checklist depends on your profile โ we confirm it during your case analysis. Every visa decision rests with the embassy or consulate.
The fingerprints you give at the VFS centre stay on file and are reused for up to 59 months on later Schengen applications. Submit at the VFS Global centre that covers your place of residence in India; every application is decided by the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in New Delhi. Lodge at least 15 calendar days before you travel, and no earlier than three months ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Do you guarantee the visa?
No one can. The decision rests solely with the Slovenian Embassy/consulate. We give you a frank, honest assessment of your profile and build the strongest possible application. Over the last 2-3 years, the applications we have handled have seen a 97% success rate.
My trip covers several Schengen states. Where do I apply?
Through Slovenia's mission, if Slovenia is your main destination, meaning the most days. If the stay is split evenly across countries, apply through whichever Schengen state you enter first.
How long does processing take?
Normally around 15 calendar days from a complete submission. It can run to a maximum of 45 days if the consulate needs additional checks. Lodge at least 15 days before travel, and up to three months in advance.
Does this business visa let me work in Slovenia?
No. The Schengen Type C business visa covers short visits only, meetings, conferences and training. It does not permit employment. Taking up work needs a separate national (Type D) permit, which we do not handle.
