Government and VFS fees are paid directly to the authorities in the local currency shown and are subject to change at the discretion of the concerned consulate or embassy; our service fee is in INR and includes appointment booking. Document checklists
Tourist visa β document checklist
- Schengen visa application form, filled online first to generate the unique code, then printed and signed
- Passport not more than 10 years old, with at least 2 blank visa pages, valid at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area and signed, plus colour copies of the bio-data page, last page and any previous Schengen visas or stamps
- One recent colour photo, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, on a white or light background, not older than 6 months
- Travel medical insurance in your name covering all Schengen countries for the whole stay, with a minimum of EUR 30,000 cover including hospitalisation, emergency care and repatriation
- Proof of financial means: personal bank statements for the last 3 months, stamped and signed by the bank, or Indian income-tax returns for the last 2 years
- Cover letter stating the reason for the visit, length of stay, who is travelling and your transport and accommodation arrangements
- Proof of accommodation for the whole trip, such as hotel or rental bookings, with separate proof for each Schengen country if you visit more than one
- Confirmed return travel reservation and day-by-day itinerary in your name; a paid ticket is not required at submission
- Proof of ties to India by status: employed applicants show the employer's leave approval, employment contract and last 3 months' payslips; self-employed show the company registration or GST certificate, business bank statements and income-tax return; retirees show pension statements; students show a bonafide or enrolment letter
- For minors: recent birth certificate and notarised consent from both parents or guardians, with copies of their passports
- Booking or reservation for an organised tour, if you are joining one
Business visa β document checklist
- Completed and signed Schengen visa application form bearing the unique code from the online submission
- Passport no more than 10 years old, with at least 2 blank visa pages, valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area
- One recent colour photo, 35 x 45 mm, white or light background, taken within the last 6 months
- Invitation letter from the Dutch company you will visit (or a Proof of Sponsorship / private accommodation form), stating your details, the purpose of the visit and the dates
- For a trade fair or established business ties without an invitation: proof of trade relations β contracts, paid invoices, orders, the company's annual accounts or annual report, or an extract from the commercial register β plus the trade-fair or congress admission ticket
- Employer statement on letterhead giving your job title, length of employment and salary, plus your last 3 months' bank statements or payslips (self-employed: business registration or income-tax return and 3 months' statements)
- Confirmed return travel reservation in your name covering the whole trip
- Hotel reservation for the full stay, or accommodation confirmed in the host's invitation letter
- Travel medical insurance in your name covering at least EUR 30,000 in medical expenses across all Schengen countries for the entire stay
- Proof of legal residence in India (original plus colour copy) if you are not an Indian citizen
- Fingerprints (biometrics) given in person at the VFS Global centre
Dependent visa β document checklist
- Passport valid well beyond the intended stay, with blank pages for the MVV sticker
- Completed IND application form for the relevant family purpose, plus the signed antecedents certificate (declaration of good conduct) for applicants aged 12 and over
- Recent passport photographs meeting the Dutch photo specifications
- Marriage or registered-partnership certificate, or β for unmarried partners β evidence of a genuine and durable relationship
- Birth certificates for any children and, where applicable, proof of legal custody or the other parent's consent to relocation
- Indian civil-status documents legalised with an apostille and translated into Dutch, English, French or German by a sworn translator
- Proof of the sponsor's income (employment contract, recent payslips, employer's declaration) or, for a knowledge migrant, the recognised-sponsor employer's documents
- Copy of the sponsor's residence permit or proof of Dutch nationality, plus the signed sponsor's declaration
- Signed declaration of intent to undergo a TB test in the Netherlands (the test itself is taken there within three months of arrival)
- Proof that the partner has passed the basic civic integration exam abroad, unless exempt
