Tourist visa — document checklist
- Completed Schengen visa application form, signed
- Two recent passport photos to ICAO standards
- Passport valid at least 3 months beyond your intended departure from the Schengen area, issued within the previous 10 years, with two blank pages (plus older passports if any)
- Flight tickets and a day-by-day travel itinerary
- Confirmed accommodation (hotel bookings) covering the full stay
- Travel medical insurance covering the whole Schengen area with minimum cover of EUR 30,000, including emergency treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation
- Personal bank statements for the last 3 months showing sufficient funds
- Income Tax Returns and salary slips (salaried), or business registration and financials (self-employed)
- Employer's leave-approval letter, or proof of business / studies
- Cover letter stating the purpose and dates of travel
- Proof of ties to India (employment, property or family) supporting return
Business visa — document checklist
- Completed and signed Schengen (Type C) visa application form
- Passport valid at least 3 months beyond your intended departure from Schengen, issued within the last 10 years, with at least 2 blank pages, plus previous passports
- Two recent passport photographs to Schengen/ICAO specification
- Invitation letter from the inviting Luxembourg company on its letterhead, stating the purpose of the trip and the full business programme (planned meetings and visits, with dates)
- Cover and leave letter from your Indian employer on letterhead confirming your position, salary, approved leave and the purpose of the trip
- Proof of your Indian business or employment — company registration/GST for a proprietor or director, or an appointment letter for an employee
- Personal (and where relevant company) bank statements for the last 3 months, recent salary slips and income tax returns for the last 2 assessment years showing sufficient means
- Formal obligation (prise en charge) from the Luxembourg host if it is covering your costs — the template is on the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry website
- Flight tickets and a day-by-day travel itinerary
- Proof of accommodation covering the whole stay
- Travel medical insurance valid across the entire Schengen Area with minimum cover of EUR 30,000 including repatriation for medical reasons
- Proof of visa fee payment
- Biometrics — fingerprints and a digital photograph given in person at the VFS Global centre
