Dependent Child Resident Visa β€” application fee (Band C, Rest of World, incl. Immigration New Zealand currently completes 80% of Partner of a Worker Work Visas in about 7 weeks, Partner of a Student Work Visas in about 6 weeks, and Dependent Child Student Visas in about 6.5 weeks. The resident partner and dependent-child routes take substantially longer -- roughly 7 to 8 months at the 80% mark. Matched to your sponsor's permit -- the visa expires when their work or student visa expires. Partner-of-a-resident routes instead lead to indefinite New Zealand residence. Multiple The same period as the sponsor's visa, renewable while their visa remains valid; indefinite on a resident partner or dependent-child visa.

Tourist visa β€” document checklist
  • Completed and signed Visitor Visa application form (INZ 1017)
  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from New Zealand, plus a copy of the identity pages
  • Two recent passport-sized colour photographs (less than 6 months old, plain light-coloured background)
  • Proof of funds and onward travel: bank statements or payslips for the last 3 months, bank deposit books showing savings history, credit card statements and limits, and income tax returns for the last two years β€” or a completed Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry (INZ 1025)
  • Evidence of ties to India: an employer's leave-approval letter confirming your return to work, or business registration/licence and business tax returns, or proof of study, assets owned, or a pension/retirement certificate
  • Day-to-day travel itinerary and accommodation details for New Zealand
  • Cover letter setting out your travel dates, the reasons for your visit, and who you are travelling with
  • For an accompanying partner or child: marriage certificate or the child's birth certificate showing parents' names; a travel-consent letter from any non-travelling parent
  • Certified English translations for any document not in English (not translated by a family member or friend)
  • Application fee plus the NZD 100 International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL), paid online when you apply β€” confirm the current fee for India on Immigration New Zealand's fee finder

Business visa β€” document checklist
  • Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from New Zealand, plus a copy of the identity pages
  • Completed Tourist/Business Visitor Visa application form (INZ 1189), signed β€” the online application is the recommended route
  • Two recent passport-size colour photographs, taken within the last 6 months
  • Cover / invitation letter from the New Zealand host company on business letterhead, stating the business reason for the visit and the activities planned
  • Letter from your employer or business in India confirming your position, approving your leave and confirming your return to work
  • Proof of funds: bank statements or payslips for the previous 3 months, credit card statements and limits, and income tax returns for the last two years (showing at least NZD 1,000 per month, or NZD 400 per month if accommodation is prepaid)
  • Evidence of onward or return travel β€” a confirmed ticket, funds to buy one, or a sponsor's undertaking
  • Evidence of ties to India: business registration certificate, business licence and business tax returns if you own a business, plus property, assets or family ties
  • Day-to-day itinerary of your New Zealand trip
  • Certified English translations of any document not in English (by an approved translator, not a family member)

Dependent visa β€” document checklist
  • Valid Indian passport, valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure from New Zealand
  • Acceptable passport photograph(s) -- one for an online application, two for a paper application
  • Your sponsor's completed partnership support form (INZ 1146 for a temporary partner visa) plus evidence of their current New Zealand work, student or resident visa
  • Evidence of a genuine and stable relationship -- marriage or civil-union certificate, joint bank accounts, shared tenancy or lease, photographs and correspondence
  • For children: full birth certificate naming both parents, and custody or consent documents where one parent is not travelling
  • Proof of sufficient funds for living expenses (bank statements) -- for example at least NZD 4,200 for the partner of a student, or roughly NZD 17,000 a year (NZD 1,417 a month) to maintain a dependent child
  • Medical examination and chest X-ray certificates where required by Immigration New Zealand
  • Police clearance certificate(s) where required
  • Biometrics -- fingerprints and a photograph -- captured at a VFS Global New Zealand Visa Application Centre
  • Completed visa application and payment of the application fee
