Document checklists
Tourist visa β document checklist
- Current passport valid for the intended stay, plus any previous passports
- Recent passport-size photograph meeting Australian specifications
- Subclass 600 application completed and lodged in ImmiAccount
- Proof of funds: personal bank statements (typically the last 3 to 6 months), income-tax returns (ITR), salary slips or business financials
- Evidence of ties to India: employer letter with approved leave, business registration, or proof of enrolment for students
- Travel itinerary with confirmed return or onward travel
- Accommodation details for the period of stay
- Invitation letter from family or friends in Australia where relevant, with their identity or status details
- Cover letter setting out the purpose and duration of the visit
- Overseas travel or health insurance (recommended, and may be requested by the case officer)
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) at a VFS Global centre if requested after lodging
Business visa β document checklist
- Current passport, valid with blank pages (carry any previous passports)
- Recent passport-size colour photograph meeting Australian specifications
- Application completed and lodged online through ImmiAccount
- Letter from your employer or company in India stating your position, the purpose and duration of the trip, and who is meeting the costs
- Invitation letter from the Australian host company or organisation, or conference/event registration
- Company registration and business documents for your India-based firm
- Personal and/or company bank statements for the last 3 to 6 months as proof of funds
- Income tax returns (ITR) for recent years
- Travel itinerary and flight tickets
- Evidence of ties to India (employment, family, property) showing intent to return
- Biometrics (fingerprints and a photograph), given at a VFS Global Australia Visa Application Centre where requested
Dependent visa β document checklist
- Valid passport with the bio-data page, for each applicant including children
- Marriage certificate, or evidence of a registered/de facto relationship (joint finances, shared lease, cohabitation and correspondence)
- Birth certificates for dependent children, showing both parents
- Copy of the sponsor's or primary applicant's Australian visa grant notice, or evidence of citizenship/permanent residence
- Recent passport-style photographs meeting Australian specifications
- Health examination results from a Department-approved panel clinic (arranged with a HAP ID generated in ImmiAccount)
- Police clearance certificate(s) for the character requirement
- Evidence of financial capacity and funds to support the family
- Sponsorship form where required (for example Form 40SP for Partner visas), and Form 956 if a registered migration agent assists
- Certified English translations of any non-English documents
