Dependent visa
Long-stay (national) visa application fee €99Standard full rate for a long-stay 'visa de long sejour' β€” the category used for dependent/family visas (family reunification, accompanying family, Talent Passport family). Denominated in EUR; collected in INR at the VFS counter (approx. β‚Ή8,800–10,300). Non-refundable even if the application is refused.

Usually a few weeks for the visa itself; France-Visas recommends applying at least a month before you travel. The regroupement familial route adds a prior prefecture decision that can take up to six months. Tied to the sponsor's permit β€” a long-stay visa (VLS-TS) or, for Talent family, a multi-year residence permit of up to four years, renewed alongside the sponsor's. Multiple For the duration of the sponsor's residence permit, renewable with it.

Government and VFS fees are paid directly to the authorities in the local currency shown and are subject to change at the discretion of the concerned consulate or embassy; our service fee is in INR and includes appointment booking. Document checklists

Tourist visa β€” document checklist
  • France-Visas application form completed on the official portal and signed, with the printed application summary and receipt
  • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months after your planned departure from the Schengen area, with at least two blank pages, plus copies of any previous visas
  • Two recent Schengen-format photographs (35x45 mm, white background)
  • Cover letter stating the purpose of travel, dates and a day-by-day itinerary
  • Flight tickets covering entry to and exit from the Schengen area
  • Proof of accommodation for the whole stay: hotel bookings, or for a family/private visit a validated attestation d'accueil (certificate of accommodation) from the host's town hall
  • Travel medical insurance covering the entire Schengen stay, with a minimum of EUR 30,000 for medical expenses, hospitalisation and repatriation
  • Personal bank statements for the last 6 months, stamped by the bank, showing sufficient funds for the trip
  • Income Tax Returns (ITR-V) for the last 2 assessment years
  • Employment proof: leave letter and recent salary slips; for the self-employed, business registration / GST documents and company bank statements
  • Proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the stay, plus the sponsor's documents where the trip is funded by someone else

Business visa β€” document checklist
  • Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid at least 3 months after your planned departure from the Schengen area, with at least two blank pages
  • Completed France-Visas short-stay application form and the France-Visas receipt, both printed and signed
  • Two recent passport photographs (35x45 mm, white background) meeting Schengen specifications
  • Letter of invitation from your French host company or the seminar/conference organiser, stating the purpose and dates of the visit
  • Covering letter from your employer or company on letterhead confirming your position, the purpose of the trip and who bears the costs
  • Proof of your company's status in India - certificate of incorporation/registration and, for the self-employed, GST and income-tax returns
  • Personal bank statements for the last 3 months and latest income-tax returns as evidence of sufficient financial means
  • Confirmed return travel booking and proof of accommodation in France (hotel booking) for the dates of stay
  • Travel medical insurance valid across the Schengen area with a minimum of EUR 30,000 for medical and hospital expenses and repatriation
  • Proof of visa-fee payment and biometrics (fingerprints and photo) given in person at a VFS Global centre

Dependent visa β€” document checklist
  • Passport valid for the intended stay, with blank pages, plus photocopies of the data and stamp pages
  • Completed France-Visas long-stay application form and the printed application confirmation
  • Recent passport photographs meeting ICAO / Schengen specifications
  • Proof of family relationship β€” marriage certificate for a spouse or birth certificate for a child β€” legalised or apostilled and translated into French
  • Copy of the sponsor's French residence permit (for example a Talent permit) plus their passport
  • Sponsor's proof of accommodation in France (lease, property deed or recent utility bill)
  • Sponsor's proof of resources for the reunification route (payslips, employment contract, tax notice)
  • The route authorisation: the main applicant's visa/permit reference for accompanying family, or the prefect's family-reunification authorisation (issued via the OFII) for regroupement familial
  • Proof of travel arrangements and any health insurance required, and payment of the applicable France-Visas fee
