Government and VFS fees are paid directly to the authorities in the local currency shown and are subject to change at the discretion of the concerned consulate or embassy; our service fee is in INR and includes appointment booking. Document checklists
Tourist visa β document checklist
- Application form completed at applyvisa.um.dk, printed and signed, with the visa-fee payment receipt from the same portal
- Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid at least three months beyond the trip, with two blank pages; plus copies of any earlier Schengen visas and entry/exit stamps
- One recent colour photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm) taken within the last six months
- Cover letter stating the purpose and duration of travel, names of accompanying persons, and transport and accommodation details
- Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries, covering at least EUR 30,000 for accident, illness, medical evacuation and repatriation over the whole trip including arrival and departure dates
- Flight tickets (plus intra-Schengen flight, train or car-rental proof if visiting several countries), and hotel bookings or accommodation covering the entire stay
- Original personal bank statement in the applicant's name showing movements over the last three months, stamped and signed by the bank
- Indian income-tax return acknowledgments for the last two assessment years
- If employed: last three months' payslips, employment contract and a leave/holiday-approval letter; if self-employed: company registration with GST number; if retired: pension statements; if a student: enrolment certificate from the institution
- If sponsored: proof of sponsorship, a letter from the sponsor and a copy of the sponsor's photo ID
- Marriage certificate if travelling with a spouse; for minors, birth certificate plus notarised consent from the non-travelling parent(s) and copies of both parents' passports
Business visa β document checklist
- Application form completed and paid for online at applyvisa.um.dk, then printed and signed
- Visa fee payment receipt printed from applyvisa.um.dk (short-stay Schengen visa fee, currently EUR 90 for adults)
- One recent passport photo (35x45 mm, colour, white background, less than six months old)
- Passport valid for at least three months beyond your intended stay in Schengen, with at least two blank pages (other travel documents must be valid for at least six months)
- Covering letter from your Indian company or organisation stating your identity, the purpose of the journey (meetings, conferences, training or business events) and the period and place of stay
- Signed invitation from the Danish host with the host's contact details, your identity, the purpose, and the dates and place of stay (the Embassy recommends the host file the online invitation at nyidanmark.dk)
- Schengen travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, valid for all Schengen countries and the entire trip including arrival and departure dates
- Flight tickets, plus intra-Schengen flight/train/car proof if visiting several states (the Embassy advises not to buy the ticket before approval)
- Proof of accommodation (hotel or holiday-home reservations) for all nights of the stay
- Original personal bank statement in your name showing the last three months' movements, stamped and signed by the bank
- Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last two assessment years
- If employed: last three months' payslips, plus employment contract and holiday/leave approval from your employer
- If a company owner or self-employed: certificate of registration of the company
- Biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) given in person at a VFS Global centre
