Lithuania tourist visa
Lithuania sits at the north-eastern edge of the Schengen zone, and a holiday there runs on the same short-stay visa (Type C) as any Schengen trip: up to 90 days in any 180-day period, valid across the whole area rather than Lithuania alone. Apply through Lithuania's mission when it is your sole or main Schengen destination β the country where you will spend the longest time, or where the main purpose of the trip lies. Splitting your days evenly between several countries? Then it is Lithuania only if you enter the Schengen area there first.
From India, every Lithuania Schengen visa is examined and decided in one place: the Lithuanian Embassy in New Delhi. You lodge the application by appointment at a VFS Global visa application centre in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore, where your biometrics are captured and the file is forwarded to the Embassy β the centre itself decides nothing. The form is completed online in Lithuania's MIGRIS system (migracija.lt), then printed and signed before you hand it in.

Your exact checklist depends on your profile β we confirm it during your case analysis. Every visa decision rests with the embassy or consulate.
Lithuania Schengen visas for applicants in India are examined and decided only by the Lithuanian Embassy in New Delhi; the VFS Global centres in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore only accept the application and biometrics and forward the file. Apply no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel. If Lithuania is not your sole or main destination, you must instead apply to the Schengen country where you will spend the most time.
Frequently asked questions
Do you guarantee the visa?
No one honestly can. The decision rests entirely with the Lithuanian Embassy in New Delhi. What we do is assess your case frankly and build the most complete, strongest application possible. Over the last two to three years, our applications have carried a 97% success rate.
Should I apply to Lithuania or another Schengen country?
Lithuania, when it is your only or main Schengen destination β where you will spend the longest time, or where the main purpose of your trip lies. If your days are split evenly between several Schengen countries, apply to the one you enter first. And if most of your trip falls in another Schengen state, that country's mission handles your application, not Lithuania.
How long does a Lithuania Schengen visa take?
Around 15 calendar days from the day you submit at the VFS centre, though the Embassy can extend that to 45 days if it needs further checks or documents. Give yourself room: the window to apply opens six months before travel and closes 15 days before you fly.
How much travel insurance do I need?
Cover is mandatory β travel medical insurance spanning the entire Schengen area for your full stay, with at least EUR 30,000 for medical emergencies, hospitalisation and repatriation. It is a uniform Schengen requirement, and Lithuania holds every short-stay applicant to it.
