Morocco business visa

Morocco switched to a fully online visa on 11 January 2023, and Indian ordinary-passport holders were among those it opened to. There is no visa-on-arrival here, so the file has to be settled before you fly. The e-Visa comes in two forms — "Tourism" or "Business" — and both run through a single government channel: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal at www.acces-maroc.ma.

The Business e-Visa lets you in once. It stays valid for 180 days from the date of issue and covers an uninterrupted stay of up to 30 days. Submit a complete file and a standard application is decided within 72 hours; the express track cuts that to 24 hours, both counted in Moroccan working days. One limit is worth flagging early: only ordinary passports go through the portal. Diplomatic, service or special passport holders apply instead at the Moroccan Embassy or Consulate.

Who this visa is for

  • Indian citizens holding an ordinary passport valid for at least 90 days from the date of the e-Visa application
  • Travellers visiting Morocco for business: meetings and negotiations, participation in fairs and exhibitions, or dealings with a commercial, industrial or service operator
  • Applicants who can document the business purpose (an invitation from a Moroccan host, a recommendation from the relevant professional chamber for private procurement, or a recommendation from the responsible Ministry for public procurement)
  • Applicants not intending to take up residency in Morocco — the e-Visa cannot be converted to residency
  • Holders of diplomatic, service or special passports are not eligible for the e-Visa and must apply at the Moroccan Embassy or Consulate

Visa options for Morocco

Business e-Visa (Category A – Indian passport)

Online authorisation issued for the "Business" purpose to Indian ordinary-passport holders. Single entry, stay up to 30 days, valid 180 days from issue.

Tourism e-Visa

Same portal, conditions and validity, but issued for the "Tourism" purpose rather than business travel.

Consular (sticker) visa

Required for holders of diplomatic, service or special passports and others not eligible for the e-Visa; applied for at the Moroccan Embassy or Consulate rather than online.

Documents typically required

  • Ordinary Indian passport valid for at least 90 days from the e-Visa application date, with a clear colour copy of the identity and validity pages (diplomatic, service and special passports are not accepted online)
  • Recent colour photograph, 35 x 45 mm, taken within the last 6 months to ICAO standards
  • Proof of the business purpose: an invitation from the Moroccan host (a commercial, industrial or service operator, or the organiser of a fair/exhibition), a written recommendation from the relevant professional chamber for private procurement, or a recommendation from the responsible Ministry for public procurement
  • Return air ticket (to be presented on arrival)
  • Proof of funds: an international bank card or the equivalent of more than 70 euros in cash per person per day of stay (checked at the border)
  • "Hospital and sanitary repatriation" travel insurance covering the period of stay
  • All attachments scanned as JPG, JPEG or PDF, each file not exceeding 1 MB

Your exact checklist depends on your profile — we confirm it during your case analysis. Every visa decision rests with the embassy or consulate.

Applications go through one channel only: the official portal, www.acces-maroc.ma. Because the Business e-Visa is single-entry, its 30-day stay cannot be combined with a second e-Visa — you must leave Morocco at the end of the permitted stay before a new e-Visa can be used. Once an application is validated and paid, it cannot be cancelled or refunded, so verify every passport detail before submitting. An approved e-Visa does not guarantee entry; Moroccan border control makes the final admission decision.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indian citizens need a visa for Morocco, or is there visa-on-arrival?

Yes, a visa is required, and there is no visa-on-arrival for Indian citizens — you apply before you travel. Since 11 January 2023, Indian ordinary-passport holders can apply online for Morocco's e-Visa for the "Business" or "Tourism" purpose through the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal, www.acces-maroc.ma.

How long does the Morocco Business e-Visa take, and how long can I stay?

A standard application is decided within 72 hours; the express option brings that down to 24 hours, both measured in Moroccan working days and both assuming your file is complete and accurate. The e-Visa is single-entry, valid for 180 days from the date of issue, and permits a stay of up to 30 days.

What proves the "business" purpose for the e-Visa?

One document that justifies the trip. That can be an invitation from your Moroccan business host — a commercial, industrial or service operator, or the organiser of a fair or exhibition. For private procurement, it's a written recommendation from the relevant professional chamber; for public procurement, a recommendation from the responsible Ministry.

Do you guarantee the visa?

No. The decision rests with the Moroccan authorities — the e-Visa is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and even with an approved e-Visa, border control makes the final call on entry. What we do is give you a frank assessment of your case and make the application as strong and complete as possible. Over the last 2–3 years, our applications have a 97% success rate.
