Finland business visa

A supplier meeting in Espoo, a stand at a Helsinki trade fair, a week of negotiations across the Nordics โ€” the visa that covers all of it is the Schengen short-stay visa, category C, the uniform visa. Finland issues it for short business travel: meetings, negotiations, conferences, seminars and trade fairs. It permits a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period, and once issued it opens the entire Schengen area of 29 countries. You apply through Finland's mission when Finland is your main destination; when no single country stands out as the main destination, you apply through the one you enter first.

From India, you book an appointment and lodge the file at a VFS Global centre โ€” New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata or Mumbai โ€” while the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi decides the case. Applicants aged 12 and over give biometrics in person: a photo and fingerprints. If you provided fingerprints for a Schengen visa in the previous 59 months, those can be reused. Count on roughly 15 days once your file reaches the embassy; a more detailed examination can extend that up to 45 days. The consulate makes the final decision.

Your exact checklist depends on your profile โ€” we confirm it during your case analysis. Every visa decision rests with the embassy or consulate.

Finland's visas for India are handled by the Embassy of Finland, New Delhi, through VFS Global visa application centres. Applicants aged 12 and over must attend in person for fingerprints and a photo, unless usable fingerprints were given for a Schengen visa in the last 59 months.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee the visa?

No one can. The decision rests solely with the Embassy of Finland โ€” the consulate โ€” under the Schengen Visa Code. What we do is assess your case honestly and build the strongest, best-documented application possible. Over the last 2-3 years our applications have carried a success rate of about 97%.

How long does a Finland business visa take?

Around 15 days from the day your application reaches the Embassy of Finland. A more detailed examination can push it to 45 days, so give yourself a comfortable margin before your travel dates.

I'm visiting other Schengen countries too. Should I apply through Finland?

Apply through Finland if it is your main destination โ€” where you will spend the most days. If your time is split evenly with no single main destination, apply through the Schengen country you enter first.

Can I get a multiple-entry business visa for Finland?

Yes. Genuine frequent business travellers can be issued a multiple-entry Type C visa valid for up to five years, though each visit still counts toward the limit of 90 days in any 180-day period.
